Electrochemical coloring of aluminum using different sulfate salts and their effect on corrosion resistance of aluminum

چکیده مقاله:
Aluminum because of having properties such as lightness , high strength to weight ratio , excellent ductility , relatively good corrosion resistance , high electrical conductivity , weldability and light reflectance widely used in transportation , aerospace , architecture , firearms and electronics in dustries . Aluminum naturally forms a resistant oxide layer in the presence of open air he does. This layer of natural oxide has a small thickness wich is thickened using anodizing operation the oxide layer and consequently the corrosion resistance of aluminum increases.

In this project , anodizing operation is performed using DC power supply and under galvanic – static conditions it is made on 6063 series aluminum alloy , wich creates hexagonal nanostructures on it . then using an AC power supply and various sulfate salts, the metals of the salts , they are deposited inside the hexagonal structure and thus the samples are colored. In this project by changing the type of sulfate salt , bronze , red and gray colors are obtained.

EDS and map analyzes taken from samples with clear presence of metal salts shows usage with in the sample structure. The most visually richly colored example in the mentioned tests it also contains more coloring metals. Impedance and tafel tests taken to test the corrosion resistance of the samples show that the corrosion resistance of the anodized samples and the colored has increased.
