چکیده مقاله
Abstract
One of the types of corrosion in industry is microbial corrosion, which includes the role of microorganisms in corrosion. Corrosion in industry has many disadvantages. The effect of microorganisms on corrosion of metals by sticking it to a common surface is called biofilm. It causes the growth of microorganisms. It is formed by the connection of bacteria with the surface in contact with the biofilm. These biofilms are resistant to detergents and can usually be found wherever there is water or an organic liquid. Cells in different parts of the biofilm are probably in different positions in terms of access to food and physical and chemical conditions; Thus, biofilms are not only often mixed and contain different species, but are composed of different phenotypes of the same species. Growth rate is probably slow in the depths of the biofilm and increases with the concentration of food concentration.
It is possible to form a biofilm on any surface in an environment containing bacteria. In places rich in food, bacteria, along with other organic and inorganic molecules such as meat and non-absorbable proteins, are introduced and provide the conditions for biofilm formation. These organic, inorganic molecules and microorganisms are transported to the surface by diffusion or turbulent flow of liquid. In the meantime, the transfer speed and the rate of absorption of these components on the surfaces are of equal importance. The purpose of this study is to investigate biofilms and their role in corrosion.
