چکیده مقاله
Magnesium ion batteries (MIBs) provided with improved safety, environmental benignity, affordability, high theoretical capacity and low cost are great appealing for portable electronics and grid-scale applications. However, the strong polarization effect of Mg2+ cause slow diffusion rate, hindering the development of MIBs. MIBs in the combination with the redox active polymers possesses attractive electrochemical properties as a future battery technology. This concept has been demonstrated by using quinone based polymers. Herein, we synthesized a Conductive polymer composite of polyaniline/carbon paper (PANI/CP) as cathode for MIBs. In a low-cost and simple procedure, PANI/CP composite was synthesized via stirring of a mixture containing Polyaniline, Carbon Black and PVDF in suitable solvent and then coating on Carbon paper. Their electrochemical activity was investigated using galvanostatic charge/discharge and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) procedures. The PANI/CP cathode displays the highest specific capacity of 195 mA h g-1 at 0.5 A g-1 and the capacity retention of 65% after over 250 cycles at 0.5 A g-1. Our work demonstrates that PANI/CP is a promising cathode for MIBs, which may offer new insight for the development for high-performance MIBs.
