Development of green chemistry concept can be useful in utilization of environmentally friendly materials in industrial fields, especially electrochemical related processes. Corrosion as one of the important factors in reducing safety norms can be effective in technological progress. Various chemical synthetic materials of inorganic and organic sources have been studied as corrosion inhibitors. The high cost and toxicity of these materials can limit their application and affect the environment and therefore their widespread industrial uses. In order to fix these problems, natural products such as plant extracts can be used as a suitable alternative to traditional chemical corrosion inhibitors due to their low cost, having a natural source and non-toxicity. Plant extracts as a natural products can be prepared from different parts such as leaves, stems, root bark, fruits, fruit peel, seeds, flowers, husk and nuts. This study investigates the effect of plant extracts as green corrosion inhibitors on ferrous and non-ferrous metal alloys. |
